World Trauma Day is annually observed across the globe on October 17 to raise awareness about  trauma and educate people on ways to address traumatic incidents and deaths. Trauma means “any injury caused to the body”. It is an emotional response to a terrible event like an accident, rape, or natural disaster.

World Trauma Day was established in 2011 in New Delhi Road traffic injuries are the leading cause of death for children and young adults aged 5-29 years.  1.3 million people die each year as a result of road traffic crashes.

World Trauma Day According to the report of the National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB), around 1.55 lakh people lost their lives due to road accidents in 2021.
